The Right to Love - Film Screening and Conversation
If you're unsure about the language or anything else regarding the event, please contact the event organizer for confirmation.
Say yes to diversity! Join us if you want to live in a country where all people can live freely, safely and happily, where it doesn't matter who they love or how they are themselves.
In the Czech Republic, members of the We Are Fair movement fought to ensure that love is not just a private matter, but also a right. LGBTQI+ people seem to be accepted. Bars are also open to them, Pride parade is attended by many people, but when it comes to the marriage of same-sex couples, hate and fear suddenly emerge. This story isn't just about them, it's about us.
On 24 June in Szeged we will also present The Law of Love, which is a shocking and inspiring documentary about the Czech Republic's fight for marriage equality and why we cannot yet be calm in Eastern Europe.
The film is screened in Czech with Hungarian subtitles.
After the film screening, stay with us and talk to Eszter Mihály, who works with Amnesty International Hungary on LGBTQI+ rights.
The event is free of charge, but subject to registration: bit.ly/44LQB7j
